Fantasy Camp 2009 - What A
Blas It Wast!!
Kingston
Trio Fantasy Camp 10 was magical. There aren't many words to
describe how everything came together with such energy, love,
fun and camaraderie.
I think
we are all recovering from an event that had us up for what
seemed like days at a time. The camper shows were excellent,
the jamming went on until 5:30 a.m., the fun abounded and everyone
just had a spanking good time. There was an incredible amount
of talent out and about, not the least of which were the campers.
Some really great songs were picked by the campers and sung
beautifully.
Some show
highlights were Josh White, jr., who held the audience spellbound,
and Jason Shane, Josh Reynolds and Tom Guard who graced us with
a few songs. In the audience were their mothers, the three original
wives of the original Kingston Trio - Gretchen Guard, Louise
Shane and Joan Reynolds. They watched amidst much laughter and
tears.
The rest
of Bob Shane's family was there, too. All the kids and grandchildren
danced and sang along with the shows.
The Kingston
Trio concert was the crowning event and the campers got the show
off to an energetic start as they opened the show singing from
the wings to take the stage. The crowd really got pumped.
The Kingston
Trio put on a stellar show. The crowd sang along and really got
into it.
To say
a good time was had by all was an understatement. We wish that
everyone could be at camp, and we're eager for next
year's. Wish we didn't have to wait that long. (2010 FC news
